Wycombe Wanderers crash out to Chelsea 4-0

What a shame! The Chair Boys were asking alot to go and beat Chelsea at their place but 4-0 was cruel and it wasn't the day to play them when Shevchenko decided to finally turn up and play like we all know he can. What an experience for the lads though and they handled it all very well, Easter see below with Lampard was impressive and caused them worries but it just wasn't to be.

Film Review: Children of Men

Well i really wasn't ready for this film, mainly cos i sat next to Anne-Randolph and she wasn't in the mood for this kinda movie but it was a also a bit of a head screw. Its set in 2027 and no-one has been born for 18 years so the world has all but collapsed and Clive Owen is caught right up in it, but he doesn't really know what 'it' is. Again i won't spoil the story line, but there is hope but how does that help?

This film literally makes you feel like you are right there at times as you jump from one depressing scene to a frantic one and then again into a surprise before jumping into something else. Michael Caine is tremendous in his unusual role, Owen is vulnerable and more accomplished than past roles and the story is absolutely fascinating.

Belt up and get ready to think about things in a new way and be prepared to go anywhere. Incredible filmaking that in some of the war torn London scenes is as near to combat as most of us will ever get. (4/5)

Film Review: Blood Diamond

Wow this film needs to be seen, i wasn't that keen but thanks to Haley i saw it and what a powerful film it was - i think for anyone who has been to Africa like Haley and I have it made it even more so.

Leonardo DiCaprio is a South African diamond seller who gets caught up in a moral struggle that could see him become rich as he helps Djimon Hounsou's character find his son and get a huge diamond that everyone will kill to get there hands on.

Throw into the mix, refugees, innocents being slaughtered and evil rebels making soldiers out of children and you will understand the weight of topic in which we are wading through. Jennifer Connerly plays a journalist who gets involved with the two leads and adds more than you could hope for.

This is a incredible story of hope that draws unlikely people together with eternal consequences. I warn you this is very hard to watch at times and i will be surprised if this doesn't affect you for the next day or two. (4.5/5)

Back in SC, busy but happy!

Well as you can see from my Blog and probably lack of contact i am very busy and have been since my return from the Motherland. However its great to be back doing something i love to do and it really is so fun and rewarding. Please do continue to stay in contact i really do love hearing from you and i appreciate your prayers so keep 'em coming. This was the sunset one sunday evening while i was waiting for the draw bridge on Sullivans Island to finish turning, stunning huh?!

Music Review: General Electriks - Cliquety Kliqk

Ok so this is something i was recommended by my friend in Cats Music and its under the Quannum label so it has the usual cool beats but its quite instrumental with only a few vocal tracks. Plus the guys are French and you can tell from the first few seconds, it has that experimental flavour that is growing on me, i just need to listen to a few more times before i get really into it. A grower but only for similar palets as me and the Ben Stocks of the world me thinks. (3/5)

Music Review: JayZ - Kingdom Come

JayZ was meant to have retired but it was inevitable wasn't it, a come back album. I only have the Mash up album with Linkin Park so i don't know alot of his stuff but i can tell its not as good as his Black album but certainly has some boom tunes esp 'Kingdom Come' and 'Show me what you got'. I need to give this more time too but its still no-where near Blackalicious or Lyrics Born for creativity but its packs a punch that is still impressive mainly down to JayZ's awesome flow and you gotta love a man who says "30 is the new 20". Music Review: Passion - the best of so far ...

My Birthday present for the Bennetts and a great choice as i love live worship and at Passion you get the best; Matt Redman, Daveid Crowder, Chris Tomlin and Charlie Hall.

If you enjoy the live Soul Survivor albums then you will dig this and you will recognise alot of the tracks - great for the car where i can sing as loud and out of tune and not offend anyone! (4/5)

Music Review: The Amazing adventure of DJ Yoda

Yes yes i love DJ Yoda, Dad you might remember buying an album of his for me the last Christmas i think or the year before. This British DJ knows how to drop mega tunes but also how to have fun with the medium of music. Encorporating film clips, comedians, famous people, tv shows and other obscure things Yoda paints a crazy album that is more of a journey.

He is getting back to his best (Cut n paste the 80's Edition) and its so cool when you hear "A.Skillz" of Sabio/Fruit and old friend of ours plying his trade among the best in the world right now. In fact 'Playin Around' is one of the stand out tracks and easily the most played by me. Its great to see Ugly Duckling on there as well as new UK heavyweight Sway.

Think DJ Shadow but fun and it is - you will laugh and bang your head at the same time. (4/5)

Wycombe Wanderers vs Chelsea!

Amazing, unbelievable and simply awesome a team as small as Wycombe drawing 1-1 with double Premier League Champions Chelsea with a squad 3000 times the amount Wycombe's is worth!! Easter was a constant threat and Mooney did some good work linking up the midfield and strikers with great control off his chest and head to keep Chelsea guessing. Lets see how they do at Stamford Bridge . . .

Music Review: Soul Survivor 2006 - LIVE

Yes this is it my new favourite worship album - as i was unable to go to Soul Survivor 2006 as i had just moved to USA i was not aware of most of the songs but they quickly grew on me and the song Love Came Down is simply incredible these are the lyrics:

WHEN I CALL ON YOUR NAME You answer
When I fall You are there by my side
You delivered me out of darkness
Now I stand in the hope of new life
By grace I’m freeYou’ve rescued me
All I am is Yours

I’ve found a love, greater than life itself
I’ve found a hope, stronger and nothing compares
I once was lost, now I’m alive in You

You’re my God and my firm foundation
It is You whom I’ll trust at all times
I give glory and praise, adoration
To my Saviour who’s seated on high

Love came down and rescued me
I thank You, I thank You
I once was blind but now I see
I see You, I see You

The whole album though is an amzing worship experience led by Tim Hughes and Ben Cantelon, Lex Buckley. Unchanging by Chris Tomlin, Our God Reigns by Delirious and Saviour by Tim Hughes were already familiar but The Stand, Highest and Greatest and Inside out are superb. I play this in my car loud and try to sing louder! (5/5)

Music Review: The Killers - Sam's Town

If you were expecting Hot Fuss part 2 you will be bitterly disappointed as this is far rockier than that and less fun and bubble gum in style. I personally loved Mr Brightside and Somebody Told Me so was a little confused by there sudden left turn in musical style.

This isn't to say i don't like it as much as there last album but it is more an aquired taste, i would put it in between the Kooks and the Lost prophets. The stand out track is definitely When we were young but i like Sams Town and Bones. And cos my nephews got me the album for Christmas i gotta love the fact there is a song called Uncle Jonny! (3.5/5)

Oh the joys of following Spurs!

What is there to say other than, just when you think its going down the pan they pull a result out of the bag but when you think they will win they will be pants!! I still love 'em though :)

Film Review: The Pursuit of Happyness

How true is that title - this is a movie that "does exactly what it says on the tin" to reuse a famous advert. We follow Chris Gardner (played so powerfully by Will Smith) and his son Christopher (Will Smiths real son Jaden) as they battle for their lives when they lose they're wife/mother, have no money, no where to live and nothing to eat.

It takes the awful realisation that Chris has taken his son by no fault of his own to the very depths of life - the only way is up and that is what drives the film the happiness that we so want our children to have and for a life that means something.

This is no smultzy comedy drama, based on a true story this is a vivid and tragic but with a glimmer of hope the film and its characters keep you hanging on, hoping for the impossible. Go see if they make it. (4/5)
